TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION

After 20 years of preparing the technical documentation for large national and international manufacturers, Chris Wyman realized that smaller companies have similar needs but cannot justify their own technical publications departments. Working as a technical writer and curriculum development specialist, Chris has authored literally hundreds of technical documents and training materials, including train-the-trainer programs and video support collateral products.

Having a great product or amazing software package is what helps to make a company successful. However, companies are also judged on the technical documentation that ships with their product. If it is primitive and ineffective, it reflects poorly on the company and equates to many more calls to your customer service team, which results in added expense to your operating budget.

Creating effective technical publications requires much more than just writing technical material. We understand that a truly fine piece of technical literature is a combination of well-written text supported by effective graphics that may include screen captures, line art, and photographs. Without going to outside vendors, we are able to supply everything that is needed to produce quality documentation that is easily understandable by your target audience.

We have the “Solutions That Solve Problems” and we offer a wide variety of products and services including award-winning digital photography, photographic image manipulation, Web site design, brochures, product spec sheets, parts catalogs, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, instructional design, press releases, technical illustration, text editing, desktop publishing, software training, computer-based demos, and of course... technical manual production.

Tech Pubs Solutions is a “hands-on” direct services business that saves its clients the expense of having to arrange for publishing needs through an expensive contract agent or recruiter. Instead, you as the client are dealing directly with the provider, without the unnecessary markup associated with managing agencies that in many or most cases have never even met the candidates they send to your office.

Small companies and large ones as well can benefit from our fast, responsive and personal attention. Whether help is needed in your own tech pubs department, your art department, training division, marketing or sales group, wherever, help is just a call away. Whether you need a long-term project commitment or just a little extra help, we can be the solution. If what you have read so far hasn’t convinced you, imagine that you have an important customer who needs technical documentation yesterday. Your company or department has a really knowledgeable subject matter expert who is the technical master of your products or services, and somehow you have another employee who is able to figure out how to get your expert’s knowledge into a document. Your customer is in a hurry, and you’re in a hurry and the material looks okay to you, so you release it to your customer.

Now imagine that a few months down the road you learn secondhand that you lost that very same customer because you sent them what they refer to as a “bubblegum” manual that was the most user-unfriendly and difficult to comprehend material that they’ve ever had to try to live with. Hopefully you’ve learned a lesson, but it was at the expense of losing one of your very best customers. Logically, your very next step should be to call Tech Pubs Solutions. If the scenario above seems all too familiar, Tech Pubs Solutions definitely has the ability to prevent a recurrence.
